The Big Wave Ridders Meca, Waimea. This
is a beautiful part of the island. This place will not even start
breaking until the waves reach 10'. This is the home of the Eddie
Aikau Quicksilver Memorial.
This picture is my first attempt to surf Pipeline. Wave heights were called 3-5', but I tell you it looked a hell of lot bigger. The first wave I took off on ended up in a nasty wipe out. I think I was under water for like 20 minutes it seemed. I was lucky there was not another set barreling down on me. The second wave I got on but it was no double overhead barrelling up or anything. It was a good wave. I paddled in afterward, because there were a lot of people there and I did not want to get cut in half or anything. I was going to go to Rocky Point, but after watching for a while, the caliber of surfing was definaltely at the professional level. I decided I dhould probably not go out there
This is me surfing my favorite break. $%#&^ beach located on the East shore. It is never crowded and always has pretty good waves. This was on a kinda small day, but those days are fun. Love those Kona winds.
The Night Life here sucks! To put it bluntly. There are too many males compared to females here. at the club it could easily be 20:1 on any night. There is too much military here for there to be any night life. This is me, my friends, and some tourist girls during spring break. By the way, I was designated driver this night. The People are: Yuko, Levy, Lahvone, Jordan, Julio, and me.
This is Lahina. It is a small town, but
there is a great life here. The night life is ok, but the guy to
girl ratio is a lot better here. Not that it matters, I am engaged.
Maui is great in beauty, and great with regard
to people. If I stay in Hawaii, this is the island where I live.
The Famous Black Sand Beach. We rented a car and drove around the island looking for surf. There was none. I expected good surf, but I was dissapointed. I did enjoy the trip, and The Big Island is beautiful.
The Volcano was intresting. I wish I had more time to enjoy the Volcano. The only way to do it is go by helicopter. I heard it is real fun to hike to where the volcano lava hits the ocean. I did not do that. I was looking for surf. Next time, with my girl, I will definaltely do the helicopter thing.
Hawaii is a great place. Just remember to respect the culture.
This place is like no other in America. It is like a diffrent country.
Do not come here narrow minded. Be very open minded or you will hate
this place.
